Ridgid has been hitting the market hard with new lights and new solutions for the job site. \u00a0We all know what it’s light when you trying to work and you just don’t have enough light. \u00a0It’s enough to dry you crazy. \u00a0So far, the new Ridgid lights have been awesome. \u00a0They have been tough, very bright and we are seeing great run times with their 18V lights. \u00a0So today we are going to show off yet another light from Ridgid, the Ridgid 18V Hybrid Upright Area Light. \u00a0This light may remind you of another light out\u00a0there, but we feel this one is much better. \u00a0So let’s jump into the Ridgid Hybrid Light Review model R8694820.<\/p>\n

\"Ridgid<\/a>You may notice this light has a very unusual design to it. \u00a0In fact, it reminds me of a toy I had when I was a kid. \u00a0It was a clown punching bag. \u00a0When I punched it, it would hit the ground and always come back up so I could beat it again. \u00a0Well actually I think I lost a couple of fights to it, but I think you get the point. \u00a0This light is designed the same way, but without punching it. \u00a0If you accidentally\u00a0knock the light down, it will come right back to the up right position. \u00a0Personally, I think this is a pretty cool idea. \u00a0The Ridgid Hybrid light is an upright area light which does a great job by shining light in all directions. \u00a0The light is diffused,\u00a0so it’s a soft light and not one of those glaring lights that blinds you. \u00a0Ridgid designed this light to produce 1,000 lumens, which is pretty bright. \u00a0While the lumens is impressive, it’s not the most impressive feature of this light. \u00a0What I found impressive is the ability to run up to 75 hours on a single charge using a Ridgid 5Ah battery. \u00a0Of course, this is on low.<\/p>\n

\"Ridgid<\/a>To turn the light on and off, there is a dial towards the top of the unit. \u00a0This is the same dial you can also adjust the brightness from low to high and everything in between. \u00a0OK, maybe I lied. \u00a0While I find the run time to be awesome, the coolest feature of this light is the ability to run it off a battery or an outlet. \u00a0In order to run this light off a battery, just open up a compartment door which is located in the center of the light. \u00a0Here you will also find a smaller door to plug your extension cord into the light and run it off 100v. \u00a0For those who love to use the light and charge a battery, sorry you are out of luck. \u00a0This unit will not charge you battery while plugged into the light.<\/p>\n

The whole light seems very durable and solid, so I don’t forsee any issues with it breaking easily on any job site. \u00a0A cool item they designed into this light is an integrated cord wrap. \u00a0So if you do have an externsio0n cord and are planning on power the light with the cord, you can always wrap the cord around the light so they are always together.<\/p>\n

Bottom line, this is a great light. \u00a0With 1000 lumens and the ability to run up to 75 hours on a single battery is pretty awesome. \u00a0With a lifetime warranty, it’s hard to go wrong. \u00a0Now this light isn’t for everyone, but those look for a nice solid, dependable light, this would be a great option.<\/p>\n
